Construction of Denzong Cinema started during the year 1960.  It was inaugurated on 12^th September, 1962 by the then His Highness, Chogyal Sir Tashi Namgyal. The first movie that was screened was Amardeep( B/W) casting Dilip Kumar and Vaijanthi Mala. It has  capacity of 790 seats X 3 classes. Denzong Cinema was revamped and refurbished and fully modernized during the year 1999-2000. It was upgraded and equipped with the latest Dolby Digital Surrounded Ex-Audio system and it is the now the fourth of its kind in India.
